No need to follow the leaks and rumors anymore, as Apple has finally launched their pair of headphones – AirPods Max. These are the company’s first ever over-ear headphones that comes with Active Noice Cancellation (ANC) support, Adaptive EQ, Spatial Audio, and much more. Apple Airpods Max is quite premium and hence asks for a premium price as well in comparison to other popular noise-canceling headphones in the market.
AirPods Max: Specifications
The design of the AirPods Max is following the recently leaked CAD renders a lot. This pair of headphones has a stainless steel headband with an airy knit mesh canopy making it comfortable and adjustable. The earcups have a matte finish on them along with memory foam ear cushioning for long session usage. The Airpod Max “offers precise volume control and the ability to play or pause audio, skip tracks, answer or end phone calls, and activate Siri,” says Apple.
In favor of Active Noice Cancellation, Apple says that each ear cup consists of three outward-facing microphones and one microphone on the inside. The former is used for environment noise detection whereas the latter monitors the sounding reaching the ears. There are 40mm drivers inside the headphones, plus the whole headphone system is powered by the company’s H1 chip.
The Apple H1 Chip is a 10-core chip that Apple claims, can perform 9 billion operations per second and provides a computational audio breakthrough for AirPods.
The headphones are promised by Apple to give up to 20 hours of playback that can be extended by turning off the ANC and spatial audio. It uses the company’s proprietary Lightning port instead of USB-C, like the iPad Pro.
